Canada’s Resource Power: The Case for a Strategic Alliance with USA to Safeguard Sovereignty

Hi Mister Sunshine Baby. You asked what audience thoughts are on the Canadian sovereignty, Union, & cooperation talk with USA. On this video.

Title: “EMERGENCY ALERT! Trudeau Has MELTDOWN Over Danielle Smith THREATS” https://youtu.be/Tw69lyQ0Ozc?feature=shared

We weren’t able to answer on YouTube because maybe they don’t want long commentary, so we posted it as an X-Article on X instead.

Since you ask for public ideas on sovereignty and unions and alliances, and since we didn’t see people bring up ideas too much. There’s a lot of people in America that can work on our resource projects for example.

Here are some possible benefits to efficient cooperative structure or a type of union or alliance between USA & Canada.

Observation:The Perils of Non-Cooperation in Mining, Energy, Technology, Defense and Existential Risk Management

In an era when the survival of our civilization (national debt repayment, infrastructure build out, public safety and national security build out, elderly care and health care build out) may well depend on how we harness our resources and collaborate across borders, the failure of key players to work together represents a dire threat.

Canada, endowed with immense natural wealth — from over 1,400 mining companies “extracting” critical minerals (gold, silver, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, potash, uranium, and diamonds) to vast energy reserves…

…being the world’s fourth-largest oil producer with proven reserves exceeding 168 billion barrels and a robust network of over 6,500 energy enterprises and insane levels of natural gas…

— is a sleeping giant in 21st century, like USA was sleeping giant in 20th century with all the factories.

21st century belongs to the resource giants. This is Canada.

Resource giants can fund enormous housing projects, enormous innovation levels, enormous infrastructure and enormous armies, for global peacekeeping for example. That would be us.

Everyone else can’t because there are no jobs for humans, but being that we have all these resources, it doesn’t depend on people doing work, it just comes form the Earth the wealth and the robots process it.

Thousands of Canadian mineral and energy discoveries are dormant and are camps sitting on up to billions of dollars of value each, but are not in active processing for export and revenue generation.

It is like sitting on piles of gold, literally, yet no one moves the material to exchange it for capital (even if people know where it is, and how much it is and how to get it).

Much of this potential is locked away behind bureaucratic inefficiencies as well, outdated regulatory frameworks, and politically driven fragmentation, and the administration set up by competitors of Canada in other countries, trying to prevent us from gaining a relative standing advantage as compared to them (blocks to access it from collaborators in Canada with foreign agents or simply due to bad education of people in administration in Canada).

A System in Stalemate

The potential for prosperity is clear. On one side, the United States, with its advanced infrastructure (10x bigger), deep capital markets (lots of money to get the job done), and technological expertise, sees in Canada a wellspring of untapped minerals, energy reserves, and renewable capacities (just like every other countries see and wait for America to decline a bit more before they consider moves on Canada).

On the other, Canadians fiercely maintain their sovereign resources (great)…

discovered, developed, and located entirely on Canadian soil with Canadian labour to discover it all

…it is fair to demand not just exploitation, but a fair, mutually beneficial management structure that respects their national identity and long-term strategic interests and the idea that it wouldn’t be fair from the profits of these resources to be equally distributed to Canadians and Americans in any cooperative union, obviously the owners (being Canadian) should get much more per kg of resource (something that of course would not be mentioned to public in economic union or cooperative union discussion by mainstream media (but Canadians are not stupid here.. it can’t be ignored).

However, the absence of a coherent, collaborative framework one that might take the form of a union or a comprehensive economic alliancehas led to a stalemate in ideas.

Proposals by USA might be for equal profit-sharing, if not stated at least implicitly conveyed by ignoring to mention it, for instance, but wouldn’t this fall short in terms of a Canadian perspective, as this would risk diluting the per capita wealth of Canadians and undermining sovereignty. Canadians are now finally familiar with how essential this GDP Per Capita metric is. Good timing too, that they are focused on this parameter. Resource Per Capita is very critical now. or similar to Real GDP per Capita.

In the absence of fair cooperation, critical infrastructure projects remain stalled, technological innovations in cleaner mining and renewable energy systems languish, and the potential for long-term economic and environmental security diminishes (for both countries).

Ripple Effects Across Society and the Planet

The consequences of this non-cooperation between Canada & USA extend far beyond economic inefficiency. When political entities, corporations, and regulators fail to bridge their divides, the results are disjointed policies and delayed action on issues that have “existential implications”.

Without coordinated resource management and energy development:

Economic Stagnation:

Stranded resources and underdeveloped supply chains can cost nations billions in lost GDP growth.

A failure to invest adequately in infrastructuresuch as pipeline networks or domestic refining capacitiesnot only squanders potential profits but also leaves nations vulnerable to economic shocks.

Geopolitical Vulnerability:

Fragmented approaches to resource exploitation can invite external threats. If Canadian resources are not secured through robust, cooperative infrastructure, they risk being commandeered by foreign powers one day, as Canada never generates the revenue it needs to build a proper national security force that is of the size and technological sophistication now required (far more expensive now), thereby undermining national sovereignty.

Environmental and Societal Collapse:

The handling of energy and mining operations in terms of leaving them deactivated as deposits, can prevent the change of society in Canada and others, from advancing to “fission and fusion societies”, leaving us to always depend on oil and gas and coal, many countries and forever, until the resources are gone one day (in our lifetime as Millenials and Gen Z for many resource types).

The interplay of these factors may push ecosystems toward irreversible tipping points, fuel mass migration when societies around the world collapse from economic collapse (mass migration headed to Canada and USA and Europe), and foster the rise of authoritarian regimes that exploit public discontent, which will build missiles (and aim them at Canada and USA and Europe).

The Existential Stakes Looking through the lens of the Great Filter hypothesis

(and there are other similar ones Omega Point, Singularity etc.. soon)…

a concept suggesting that civilizations face nearly insurmountable hurdles before achieving sustained, interstellar development

…we find that non-cooperation might be one of these critical, potentially terminal obstacles.

The survival of our technological civilization depends on our ability to integrate ethical, scientific, and engineering solutions in a coordinated manner.

This integration is not solely a matter of economic opportunity but a prerequisite for avoiding a convergence of crises: from uncontrolled artificial intelligence and nuclear proliferation to climate catastrophe and societal fragmentation.

Coordinated Action Has Potential To Drive Canada and America to Overcome Existential Issues

The public, however, often underestimates the cascading risks of fragmentation. Without understanding the consequences beyond the economic impact analysis of the “job losses”, there is not a real and full risk evaluation taking place.

Many view non-cooperation as mere political dysfunction or “job losses of 500 000”, but that’s not actually the cost here, only a small slicea temporary gridlock that might resolve itself over time.

In truth, this inertia is a harbinger of far more dire outcomes.

Without deliberate, integrative efforts to develop a fair economic partnership or union allowing for efficient cross border industrial development and technology development and academic development and security technology & resiliency technology manufacture enhancement

— one that respects both Canadian resource sovereignty & Canadian political sovereignty, but gets the broader strategic advantages of a transnational alliance (such as non administrative barrier border, where one can easily cross to work on resource projects if going North towards Canada, or a Canadian can easily cross to work South in a technology company etc..as an example)

…both nations risk institutional decay and existential collapse.

And no, the USD is not the big benefit of such a cooperative economic/industrial/trade/technology/academic union, but political and military commands are best as sovereign systems (beneficial from tactical point of view as well for both countries). It’s obsolete. Bitcoin, Gold, Silver, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Ripple are already better.

All stakeholdersgovernments, corporations, civic groups, and the publicmust at least know that there is a benefit here from removing paperwork between countries to do these kinds of activities, that don’t actually get done when they can get done, if the border bureaucracy acts to dampen activity between the two countries, that is legal, but is simply not done due to the paperwork requirements.

Collective negotiation, the establishment of transparent profit-sharing and resource management frameworks, and robust infrastructure development can we hope to secure a future that is both prosperous and sustainable for both countries.

In summary, the lack of cooperation in critical sectors such as mining and energy and technology and defense technology does not simply result in economic inefficiencies…

— it lays the groundwork for a cascade of broader, potentially existential risks.

Bridging these divides is not just a matter of economic policy; it is a strategic imperative for safeguarding civilization itself.

We thought to mention this because everyone is building alliances nowadays.

Think BRICS, African Union, European Union. Next Latin Union of some sort or South American Union.

Is it smart to be the ones left out? Multi-Polar. Does that not mean everyone has their own region? Well… it looks more like Canada’s region is a short pole or no pole.. no big alliance.

Kinda un-competitive perhaps.

How long will we make it in the world alone?
