Skills LinkedIn Says Are Needed & Training – For the typical worker, it can be a challenge to figure out what educational option will provide the best professional development for the fast changing and continually evolving job market. Often times, one must not only guess what skills the employers are most likely to need, but must also guess which educational option too choose. Further, the education chosen must “certify” or “convey confidence” to potential recruiters, that in fact, the education chosen has provided the employee with the required skill.
To help clarify the issue, LinkedIn researched which skills companies are likely to need most in 2018. LinkedIn used billions of data points, from their very large member database, and determined which hard and soft skills are most requested by employers. We’ve selected from LinkedIn’s list, some of the top hard skills, and then listed many new “online micro programs” as educational solutions.
Below is a list of the top online certificate programs which are most applicable to the skills employers look for in the year 2018. The programs listed contain content relating to the latest applied skills required by employers. The programs we chose are offered by Coursera or edX. These course providers were chosen due to the high quality program design, ease of access to course content, job related content, great institutional partnerships, highly affordable program model, self-paced program design, and great financial assistance options. These programs are cheaper than traditional continuing studies “in-class” certificate programs, and it appears, also more related to actual job function.
